Ner Panyò s'usa'r prepozixon a alante 'el'infìnitiv, pero, n'Llanito l'a s'ase omìting, êto tamièn pasa n'otrô Ròumants làngwijez.

Spanish uses the preposition a before the infinitive, but, in Llanito the a is omitted, this also happens in other Romance languages.

Previously I have shown you how verbs of English origin are formed in Llanito

e.g: ASÈ + gerund of English verb.

There is also another interesting phenomenon, there are some words of Spanish origin which have entered Gibraltarian English over the last few years:

TO RALLATE: from the Spanish rallar

TO COLATE: from the Spanish colarse

Furthermore, these Gibraltarian English verbs also have an equivalent in Llanito which follow the same structure as other verbs of English origin:

RALLAR (Spanish) → TO RALLATE (Gibraltarian English) → ASÈ RALLÈITING (Llanito)

COLARSE (Spanish) → TO COLATE (Gibraltarian English) → ASÈ KOLÈITING / ASERSE KOLÈITING (Llanito)

También existe otro fenómeno interesante, hay algunos verbos de origen castellano que han entrado en el inglés gibraltareño a lo largo de los últimos años:

TO RALLATE: del castellano rallar

TO COLATE: del castellano colarse

Además, estos verbos del inglés gibraltareño también tienen un equivalente en llanito que siguen la misma estructura que los otros verbos de origen inglés:

RALLAR (castellano) → TO RALLATE (inglés gibraltareño) → ASÈ RALLÈITING (llanito)

COLARSE (castellano) → TO COLATE (inglés gibraltareño) → ASÈ KOLÈITING / ASERSE KOLÈITING (llanito)

Como lla 'exo mènchoning nun prìvios poust la palavra pa 'meatball/albóndiga' n'Llanito ê armòndiga, amâh, una palavra paresìa tamièn s'usa n'Portugêh: almôndega. Tanto'r Llanito komo'r Portugêh usan un M kwando'n Panyò serìa 'albóndiga' kon un B.

D'ònde viene la palavra 'armóndiga'?

Armóndiga, almôndega & albóndiga vienen der klàsikol Àrave  بندقة (bunduqah) (avellana). Er Panyò iso kontsèving l'etimolòjikol B pero'r Llanito i er Portugêh no B-M.

Ête cheinj de B à M tamíèn pasa n'otrâ palavrâ n'Llanito pwê 'sè rifèring patrà à ête poust.

ARMÒNDIGA 

As I mentioned in a previous post the word for 'meatball' in Llanito is armòndiga, furthermore, a similar word is used in Portuguese: almôndega. Both in Llanito & Portuguese an M is used when in Spanish it would be 'albóndiga' with a B.

Where does the word 'armòndiga' come from?

Armòndiga, almôndega & albóndiga all come from the classical Arabic بندقة (bunduqah) (hazelnut). Spanish kept the etymological B but Llanito & Portuguese did not B – M.

This change from B to M also occurs in other words in Llanito you can refer back to this post.

ARMÒNDIGA

Tal como ya he mencionado en un post anterior la palabra para 'albóndiga' en llanito es armóndiga, además, una palabra parecida también se usa en portugués: almôndega. Tanto el llanito como el portugués usan una M cuando en castellano sería 'albóndiga' con B.

¿De dónde proviene la palabra 'armòndiga'?

Armòndiga, almôndega & albóndiga provienen del árabe clásico  بندقة (bunduqah) (avellana). El castellano conservo la B etimologica pero el llanito y el portugués no lo hicieron B-M.
